Rain Barrel

Rain Barrel, Pre-assembled $80

As part of a regional initiative, NVSWCD offers low-cost rain barrels. Unlike our Build-Your-Own Rain Barrel workshops, these barrels are already assembled.

Pick-up Friday March 27th (9am to 4pm) or Saturday March 28th (9am to noon), 2026
Falls Church, VA

Save money and water and help protect our waterbodies. Pre-assembled barrels are around 42 inches high and hold approximately 50 gallons. Only two rain barrels will fit in most vehicles.

A full, non-refundable payment must accompany your order. Orders will close if supplies run out. You will be emailed a confirmation receipt, which will include the address of the pick-up site near Falls Church, VA. Pick-up days are Friday March 27th (9am to 4pm) or Saturday March 28th (9am to noon), 2026.

Place the rain barrel under your downspout to capture runoff from your roof. By installing a rain barrel at home you will:

    • Provide your indoor and outdoor plants with water they will love! Unlike treated water, which is "softened" with dissolved mineral, rain water is naturally soft.

    • Save money on your municipal water bill. And save water.

    • Protect the Chesapeake Bay. Water stored in your rain barrel won't rush off into streams and ponds. As you use the stored rain water in your garden, it will absorb slowly into the ground. This replenishes groundwater supplies. Rain barrels help reduce erosion near our waterbodies. Some of this erosion harms the Bay.

NVSWCD also offers lower cost Build-Your-Own Rain Barrel workshops. For more information, please visit
Northern Virginia Rain Barrel Workshops
or email
rainbarrel@fairfaxcounty.gov .

*Only two rain barrels will fit in most vehicles.
